Welcome to the Home of Falmouth Shout
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of one of our members, and dear friend, Louise Sandall. She suffered a massive haemorrhage, and despite fighting bravely under superb care at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital, died 12 days later, on Wednesday 21st October 2009.
Louise will be missed terribly by all of us, and most especially by her husband, and fellow Shout member, Cas Sandall. Louise will be remembered for many qualities; her enthusiasm, her beautiful voice and shy but easy musicianship, her creativity and her sense of humour. Just receiving an email from Louise was always a bright spot in the day; just a few short lines in one of her missives conveyed so much of Louise. Her humorous, clever and eloquent wordsmanship and her infectious enthusiasm shone through like beacons in all she did and we all consider ourselves privileged to have been a part of her life.
In addition to being a talented musician, Louise was known internationally as an author of fantasy novels, publishing over 80 books. She was also a guest lecturer in Professional Writing at University College Falmouth and worked in Europe with the British Council English Language Programme. As well as raising money for RNLI through her singing with Falmouth Shout, she was also treasurer for the St Agnes Lifeboat.
In loving memory of Louise Sandall
1952-2009, an amazing woman.
A bright light extinguished from this life,
but one that will leave a glow in our hearts
forever and a lovely crew member to
have graced our ship.

We sing shanties and Cornish songs
partly because we love doing so, and also because we want to keep the
traditions of shanties and Cornish community songs alive and thriving.
At the same time, this gives us the opportunity to raise money for the
RNLI and other local causes and charities.
To this end, we can be hired for whatever occasion you like. For example,
we have performed at weddings, celebrations,
including of course, St Piran’s Day and Trafalgar
Day, festivals, and other events.
We founded and run the annual Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival
